ACTION OFFICER, Humanium Metal

Description
Humanium Metal by IM is transforming seized illegal firearms from regions affected by armed violence, into commodities for peace. The income generated from Humanium Metal is re-invested into the communities affected by gun violence, aiming to break the vicious cycle of violence and poverty. Your role
Type of Job: 50% – 75% (Depending on your situation and availability)
Duration: Preferable beginning 1st September 2021 – 2st October 2022.
Location: The employment is remote or at IMs head office in Lund, Sweden.

The Action Officer will be an important agent for scaling-up and expanding IMs private stakeholders and growing the public engagement for Humanium Metal. As an Action Officer you’ll be a part of developing the creative and strategic work, growing Humanium Metal’s private partnerships – creating world class products out of weapon metal. With your grit, passion and hard work, your everyday job is to land projects that most people did not think were landable. To be a perfect fit for this role, you should:

  • have academic education or equivalent experience
  • have knowledge or experience from working with social media management and digital channels such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • have previous experience in website management, content and analytics
  • be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and are comfortable creating both visual and written content
  • be fluent in English and have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • be experienced in designing and implementing marketing campaigns.

Engagement Officer, Humanium Metal

Description
IM has launched Humanium Metal in a quest to reduce the impact of gun violence immediately while generating funds to establish a culture of peace in affected communities in direct contribution to Agenda2030. Humanium Metal is a circular business model that unites a variety of stakeholders in a virtuous circle for peace by destroying illicit firearms, that are turned into Humanium Metal, that is in turn used in a wide range of products, such as watches, pens and awards. The proceeds are re-invested into communities affected by gun violence to empower survivors and community-based violence prevention efforts. IM also uses the stark symbolism of Humanium Metal for advocacy efforts to end gun violence ranging from the local to the global level. Find out more about Humanium Metal here.

Your role
Duty station: Remote or at IMs head office in Lund, Sweden
Frame of contract: Project contract, 13 months, 75% (30 hours a week)
Timeframe: September 1st, 2021- September 31st, 2022 (13 months)
Start date: Preferably September 1st, 2021

The Engagement Officer will support the scale-up of Humanium Metal by expanding and sustaining engagement of IMs partner ecosystem.

The Engagement Officer will be part of the Global Operations Team and report directly to the Program and Advocacy Manager, Humanium Metal. The main role for the Engagement Officer is to lead the development of international Campaigns, to support with network engagement and the geographic scale up of Humanium Metal.

The Engagement Officer will lead the development and implementation of campaigns and at moments of global relevance. A special focus will lie on developing moments of engagement that allow for community engagement at the local level as well as amplifying local voices at the global level.

The Engagement Officer will support with the engagement and expansion of IMs partner ecosystem to partners relevant to Humanium Metal. This work will also include developing content for our ACTIVIST platform. The Engagement Officer will support with developing a concept, design and implement ACTIVIST Training modules for interested activists and volunteers, commercial, governmental and civil society partners.

Your profile

We are looking for you who has professional experience in:

  • Designing and implementing advocacy campaigns
  • Building engagement/networks

  • Academic education or equivalent experience within this area
  • Knowledge on peace and development
