IM’s work in Romania is limited to providing support to the phase-out process of OSAUI, which was founded by IM and is currently developing into a fully developed and independent, national Romanian organization.

OSAUI provides daily activities for people with disabilities and elderly people. Furthermore, they fight for children’s rights and mobilizes young students and elderly people in volunteer work.

Initially set up as a local IM-office, Organizatia Suedeza pentru Ajutor Umanitar Individual (OSAUI) is currently registered locally in Romania, with the agreed intention that OSAUI becomes an independent and sustainable Romanian CSO.

IM intends to further support OSAUI , until the end of 2022. IM’s focus is to provide relevant support to the development of the organization, and to ensure that the 14 persons with severe disabilities, who are under the care and legal custody of OSAUI , receive adequate services and care.

OSAUI is also part of IM’s partner eco-system in the region and is thereby benefitting of contacts and shared experiences with CSOs from Moldova and Ukraine.

IM’s partner organization in Romania Organizatia Suedeza pentru Ajutor Umanitar Individual, OSAUI ensures the well-being of the 14 young people who live on the organization’s residential center. At OSAUI’s day center, rehabilitation support and development activities are offered to children and young people with disabilities.
